I have been out there a few times myself and only ever get dinks but its convenient being able to access from shore and great for kids...thinking of taking my nephew there today.

I was out there last week and caught a decent fish off the dock using a jig and a YUM craw trailer. There were lots of dinks schooling around the dock.

Re: dinks fest at albert dyke
I decided t0 out there yesterday with my nephew because the shore access is easy compared to most places.
I got him fishing a senko wacky rigged and he got lots of hits and lots of followers off the dock but he couldn't get a hookup. When I tried I hooked into a fish that was large for that resevoir but it managed to twist off when I got it close.
In in all a good two hours of fishing but we couldn't get a decent hookup. The bass seemed reluctant to commit to the bite - just pecking at the senko. I thought something smaller might work better but, even a small dangar nite lure got much the same response - light pecks but non-commital bites.

I should definitely have a go with the fly rod next time - its just a bit of a pain getting clearance with the steep banks in so many spotsandy wrote:i found they would comit to my xrap pretty good i even had some smoke it at the side of the dock
