Andy you caught me at a bad moment today when you asked me about the Chehalis. After an hour of swearing at my outboard for an hour I rethought about your questions.
My suggestion of bottom bouncing with red wool still stands. You also might want to try drifting a float with red wool. There is a good possibility of summer steel in there so you might want to try some of your rubber worms. Pink is always good also purple. Blades are a good choice too. For flies it is hard to beat Kaufmann's Stone Nymphs in black or tan; spring, steelhead, and rainbow all love them. Stimulator or Irresistible in a reverse current is a killing combo (one of my favorites). One more trick that sometimes works is a popper or pink frog worked through eddies with a fast retrieve (this trick pisses them all off).
I won't be able to make it; Brad wants to do area 51. I expect to hear good reports from you and Shane.

We walked for about an hour down the river and didnt see anything. The water is gin clear that if there was anything there, we would have seen it. probably 2 more weeks......

I can give that same report for every time I went out after red springs. I don't fish them anymore.
